Ongo offers support to those affected by British Steel job losses

   

Ongo is set to hold drop-in days every Thursday at their office at Cole Street, Scunthorpe for those affected by job losses at British Steel.

The team will be available between 09:30am – 4.30pm to provide information on employment opportunities, recruitment and training, along with mental health support they have available for individuals affected.

The Ongo Recruitment and Employment Support team has been operating for 20 years, and has since launched over 20 new projects, helping more than 17,000 people into work or training during that time.

Maryanne Fitzgerald, Enterprise & Engagement Officer at Ongo said: “We are saddened by the news of job losses at British Steel. As an organisation based within Scunthorpe we understand the importance of the Steel Works to the town.

“We know the impact redundancy has on individuals and the stress and upset it causes, so want to do all we can to help.

“We have a great team who really care and want to support those who need us, so please come and see us if you’re affected.”
